The Bengals have been doing especially well on the water this season. The crew team had the opportunity to compete in the renowned Head of the Charles this past weekend. The Head of the Charles is one of the largest and most prestigious regattas in the nation. It began in 1965 and is the largest two-day regatta in the world. Over eleven thousand rowers race for three miles on the Charles River. Competitors range from students as young as fifteen to college students to former Olympians. This year’s regatta was especially significant because St. Mary Academy - Bay View sent three boats to The Head of the Charles Regatta for the first time. The Blue and Gold is very excited to congratulate Emma Leary ‘22 and Lindsey Williams ‘23 for placing third place out of the fifty-three competing boats in the Women’s Youth Doubles. Congratulations, ladies! The Blue and Gold would also like to congratulate the other boats who competed as well. Keep up the great work!
