It’s a New Year! Out went 2021 and in came 2022. With a new year comes new opportunities, new chances to try new things, achieve new goals, broaden our horizons, use the amazing gifts God gave us to enrich not only our lives, but also the lives of others. Despite the surge in COVID-19 cases currently, we still have hope for this year. 2020 showed us what we are capable of so that we can get through the tough times. Being in clubs and activities at Bay View helped me.

Book Club met to discuss The Midnight Library on January 28, 2022. The Midnight Library is a fantasy thriller by Matt Haig that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Definitely come to the book club meeting and enjoy a snack or two. It should be a very interesting discussion.

Mercy Action recently met to discuss Catholic schools week which will be January 31 through February 4. Mercy Action and Peer Ministry are planning a Blessing Bag Fundraiser where all proceeds will go to the Veterans Home in Bristol, Rhode Island. Mercy Action and Peer Ministry will be collecting toiletries and other necessities during Catholic Schools Week. I’m now very excited for Catholic schools week as the members of Mercy Action will make it a great one!

The Environmental Club recently held a week-long bake sale during freshman and senior lunch. People enjoyed delicious cookies and other baked goods while supporting the Environmental Club at the same time.

The Chemistry Club has been preparing for a competition with Lasalle Academy. Good luck, Chemistry Club!

Now that we are in a New Year and we have midterms out of the way, The Blue and Gold team is back up and running. So stay tuned for more articles!
