St. Mary Academy – Bay View celebrated its 37th annual Manhattan at the Bay fundraiser last weekend. The series of events, held annually the last weekend of April, is typically centered around a cabaret-style, musical production presented by the Bay View Players. However, for the first time in its history, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event moved to a virtual fundraiser. The two-day schedule of events included testimonials from past alumane and performances from the Bay View Players. The fundraiser called on alumane and friends of the Bay View community to give to the President’s Emergency Relief Fund.
The relief fund, set up by the Academy’s president, Sister Marybeth Beretta, raises financial aid funds for Bay View students and families affected by COVID-19.
