What is an endowed scholarship?
An endowed scholarship is established by a donor or donors and invested with the school’s endowment. The interest from the scholarship is awarded each year. The awards are in perpetuity, spending only the interest accrued in a given year, not the principal.
How much do I give?
No amount is too small (or too large)! The scholarship becomes active and can award monies when donations reach $25,000.
Can my company match my gift?
Many corporations match their employees’ charitable contributions to non-profit organizations. To find out if your company (or your spouse's company) has a matching gift program, contact your human resources office and follow the directions to initiate a match. For more information about matching gifts, contact Erin Hanna '98, Director of Institutional Advancement, at 401.434.0113 ext. 104. You will be credited for your gift plus the matched amount by your or your spouse's employer.
