ABOUT MERCY DAY
Mercy Day, celebrated annually on September 24, marks Mercy Foundress Catherine McAuley's establishment of the first "House of Mercy" in 1827 in Dublin, Ireland.
The House of Mercy championed women's education, providing young women and girls with refuge and learning opportunities. Nearly two centuries later, St. Mary Academy - Bay View upholds Catherine’s enduring legacy, prioritizing educating and empowering young women and girls in the spirit of Mercy.
