St. Mary Academy - Bay View is an independent, Catholic school for girls, grounded in the social values and ideals of the Sisters of Mercy. We believe in compassion, service to others, global vision and responsibility. We believe in women and women's issues, in educational excellence, and the intellectual and spiritual development of young women to meet the challenges of the global community in the 21st century.
We believe an all-girls education creates strong, independent, self confident young women who take risks, push each other to be the best they can be, and learn how to lead in a setting where all the role models – the captains, the presidents, the chairpersons – are eager, bright young women.
We believe in one other.
We encourage each other.
We think how our actions will affect others.
We walk in her shoes.
And we believe we’re all in this together.
Students, faculty, parents. The values we teach our children at home are reinforced every day here at Bay View. And those values – in concert with one of the most rigorous academic programs in the state – are making a difference.
You see it every day, in the classroom, where Bay View girls outperform other Rhode Island girls on the SAT in critical reading, writing and math.
You see it on the court, where our athletic teams are consistently ranked tops in the state in multiple sports.
And you see it in what’s next, when 99% of our students go on to four-year colleges.
Here at Bay View, our goal is to develop compassionate leaders with the conscience and confidence to excel in whatever field they enter, while making our communities better places to live, work and thrive.
