Spiritual Life

Bay View Academy challenges the whole intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual development of its students by encouraging them to grow in wisdom and compassion. Its mission statement, “permeated with the ideals of Catherine McAuley," founder of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, mandates the responsibility to nurture women of principle who understand their life-giving place in the world of the 21st century. 

Bay View is dedicated in its:

  • Roman Catholic prayer and practice in its liturgies and prayer services
  • Commitment to value varying religious beliefs
  • Advocacy for those with little or no voice, particularly women and children
  • Reverence for life in all its stages and manifestations
  • Careful stewardship of Earth and its environmental and human resources
  • Solidarity with those who are poor
