In just the past 5 years, over one thousand students have participated in our premiere performing arts program. Whether in the spotlight or behind the scenes, the girls of Bay View are truly an inspiration.
Bay View puts on three major productions a year: a rousing fall musical performance, like “Godspell,” “Nunsense” and "The Wizard of Oz;" an inspiring spring Drama Festival production; and the annual “Cabaret” performance during the Academy’s major fundraising event, Manhattan at the Bay. This two-hour production showcases the talents of close to 200 of our own vocalists, actors, dancers and musicians.
For more than two decades, the Bay View Players have participated in the RI State Drama Festival, winning six titles and several alternate positions. We’ve also represented Rhode Island in the New England Drama Festival with adaptations of pieces like Lillian Hellmann’s “The Children’s Hour” and Muriel Spark’s “The Prime of Miss Jean Brody.” The Bay View Players have been awarded the prestigious Franco Coli Ensemble Award for our performance of Brian Friel’s “Dancing At Lughnasa.”
