Campus Visit

The best way to get to know Bay View is to visit us! It will give you a strong sense for what is available to our students, the warm community that you can be part of and the positive feeling that is Bay View.

Please join us for Open House on October 29 at noon to take a tour and speak to students, coaches, faculty and administrators. We also offer private tours, scheduled at your convenience and other campus events and shadow day visits.

Shadow day visits will begin on November and you can register for a visit day using the button on this page.

Entrance Exam

All students applying to Grades 6 through 10 are required to take an entrance exam. The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is administered to students entering grades 9 and 10 and the Educational Development Service (EDS) is administered to girls entering Middle School. Both exams are published by Scholastic Testing.

Applicants are strongly advised to take the Entrance Exam at Bay View. Students who take the exam at St. Mary Academy – Bay View will be given priority consideration for admissions, merit scholarship and financial assistance.

The Scholastic testing service will forward your results to other schools at your request. Registration for the exam is included in our online application or you may register using the link below.

The test will be administered at Bay View on Saturday, January 6th at 8:30 a.m.

Applying for Financial Assistance

St. Mary Academy - Bay View provides, on a limited basis, financial assistance to students entering kindergarten through Grade 12 with demonstrated need. Awards are based on the applicant's ability to pay tuition as determined by the information submitted on the application form to the FACTS Management Company. You must apply online by clicking here: FACTS Management Company.

The filing deadline is December 29, 2023, for priority consideration.
After this date, families who apply will be reviewed as on a rolling basis as long as funds remain available.

Please Note: Financial Assistance begins in Kindergarten, and is not available for the Preschool class.

Day at the Bay

Notification of Admission

The Admissions Committee meets to review applicant files when the application, exam, transcript and teacher recommendation are received, and, for Middle School and Lower School Applicants, following a student’s "Day at the Bay", and assessment.

The first round of letters indicating the Admissions Committee’s decisions will be mailed on January 26, 2024, for applicants to the Lower, Middle and Upper School. After this date, we will continue to accept applications for those grades that have space available. Students applying to the Upper School are strongly encouraged to begin the admissions process in the fall of the eighth grade year if applying for freshman admission.

Transfer Students

Transfer candidates and their parents are invited to schedule a personal interview with the Director of Admissions and Principal as part of the admissions process. Transfer students may apply for September as well as mid-year enrollment in January.

Please note, our admissions process for the Lower School (preschool through Grade 5) is slightly different than the Middle School (Grades 6–8) and the Upper School (Grades 9–12). While the Academy has a rolling admissions policy, which allows us to accept applications for all grades at any time, space permitting, there are incentives for early applicants which are noted in Key Admissions Dates.
