Three BVA Crew Members Sign Letters of Intent to Division One Universities

Three members of Bay View Academy’s senior class and Varsity Crew recently signed their Letters of Intent to Division One universities at the Bay View campus. 

The three students are:
Julia Calise: signed to the University of Connecticut
Erin O'Connell: signed to Old Dominion University
Chiara Ponko: signed to University of Louisville 

The National Letter of Intent (NLI) program is administered by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). According to the NCAA website, “the NLI is a voluntary program with regard to both institutions and student-athletes…By signing a National Letter of Intent, a prospective student-athlete agrees to attend the designated college or university for one academic year. Pursuant to the terms of the National Letter of Intent program, participating institutions agree to provide athletics financial aid to the student-athlete, provided he/she is admitted to the institution and is eligible for financial aid under NCAA rules.”
