Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, Bay View is a Catholic Preparatory School for girls. Just girls. All girls. And as an all-girls school, we offer the added benefits of more attention, personal encouragement and precise feedback in the classroom, enabling our young women to reach their potential with confidence and self worth.

Here, our faculty develops and inspires intellectual strength, social consciousness, personal responsibility and spiritual awareness in each and every student.

Above all, Bay View is known for academic excellence. As a student here, you’ll shine on the SATs and college acceptance. You can earn college credit through Advanced Placement courses or our partnership with Rhode Island College. And then there’s the Virtual Classroom, with courses from advanced academic disciplines to specialized classes. The curriculum at Bay View is adapted to your career goals, with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and medicine.

But at Bay View, our students go beyond the classroom. Far beyond. You’ll have all sorts of opportunities to travel abroad. You’ll initiate and participate in exchange experiences with students from Italy. You could find yourself in Beijing in 2012. Our mission projects give you the chance to help communities in need all over the world. And you’ll interact with international students who live with our host families and attend Bay View for high school.

And speaking of going far beyond, every year, our Lady Bengals are rocking the field, the gym, the ice and the pool. In fact, 83% of the student body participates in our nineteen sports, and Bay View athletes have won state titles in basketball, soccer, fast pitch softball, ice hockey, swimming and tennis.

We excel in the arts, too. For almost thirty years, Bay View girls have dazzled thousands of guests in our Cabaret Show, an annual dance and music extravaganza. Students in our Visual Arts program have won Gold and Silver keys at the Scholastic Art Awards, and our artists have been chosen for the prestigious American Vision Award.

And we start early. Girls who attend the Bay View Lower and Middle Schools benefit from the same quality faculty, and a curriculum enriched by itinerant subjects that prepare them for high school and beyond.

Bay View has a rolling admissions policy, and we accept applications for all grade levels at any time. Like right now.
