On June 5, 2017, Bay View's Lower School "Friends of Mercy" (FOM) club commissioned nine new members. Under the guidance of Ms. Battista, Ms. Cameron, Mrs. Peterson and Sister Sheila, the students meet after school once per month during the school year. The girls pray together, socialize and work on an activity that spreads the values of Catherine McAuley within our school community, the Mercy Community, and beyond.

This year's activities included creating welcome bags for new Lower and Middle School students to Bay View, delivering greeting cards to the Sisters of Mercy living at Franklin Court, collecting and packaging rosary beads for a parish priest in India, New Year's resolutions message displayed in each classroom, and a presentation to our LS classes of an original skit telling the story of Catherine McAuley, Frances Warde and the Sisters of Mercy today. At the start of each year, all fourth and fifth grade girls are invited to join the Friends of Mercy.
