St. Mary Academy - Bay View junior, Bingqing (Ella) Xu, will be attending this year's American Regions Mathematica League (ARML) national competition at Penn State University on June 3, 2017.

Ella is on the "A" Team for the Rhode Island ARML team. The Rhode Island ARML team is made of the top mathletes in the State of Rhode Island. This team is sanctioned by the Rhode Island Mathematics Teachers Association (RIMTA) and Rhode Island Math League (RIML). The goal of the Rhode Island ARML team is to bring the best math students in Rhode Island to the national ARML competition each year. Additionally, Ella notably came in second place at this year's "Who Wants to be a Mathematician?" contest run by the American Mathematical Society at Providence College.
